James Mitchum was an American actor born on May 8, 1941 in Los Angeles, California. He was the son of actor Robert Mitchum and the younger brother of Christopher Mitchum. James Mitchum made his film debut in 1957 in the western film "Thunder Road" alongside his father. He went on to appear in many films and television shows throughout his career, including "The Beatniks," "Deadly Harvest," "Blackout," "The Bold Ones: The Lawyers," and "The Virginian."
Mitchum was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. After completing his service, he returned to acting and continued to work in the industry until the 1990s. In addition to his acting career, Mitchum was also a singer and recorded several albums in the 1960s.
Mitchum passed away on November 15, 2018 at the age of 77.
